I was very AMAZED with the quality of the Bizarre Mag's commercial.
It is 30 seconds in length and 3 megs in size @ 640x370.
Anyone have an idea what program/codec was used?

I'd know that pussy anywhere!!! ha ha ha
I think the file size is mainly due to the dark shoot and lack of color, not as much the codec.. although codecs obviously have something to do with the quality/size of any digitized video :high:
no that's not it, nextOriginally Posted by Squirt
Are you sure? If you add contrast and brighten this video in Cleaner.. the file size increases... but making it darker.. lowers the size.. hmmmmOriginally Posted by curiousbunny
.... I think this thread is just a ruse to get people to view Bucks kick ass commerical :high: I love it! Never seen anything like it. It rocks!
yes its a good commercial but no that's not the point.
I do understand what u say its like a grayscale image and a color image the size is not the same. Less color the smaller the image size. Anyway, I think there's MORE than that 2 this video. Lets hope 2 get some more feedback :mexican:
why not ask buck to ask them - and then please tell me, too!!!
I did a few days ago. He said he'd ask the people who worked on it. :extat:Originally Posted by basschick
I emailed them they said they would ask the video department haven't got back to me yet..But I have to say that I do think Squirt is right because when they first emailed me about it they said something about it being to dark and wanted to fix it but they never did so...maybe they didn't because it made the file size to large. It does make sense!
I am so happy you guys like it! Maybe it will start making me some $$$
Buck
the video is awesome
the codec is probably H.263 by Apple (MPEG-4) or so I guesstimate
if a DVD can be shrunk down to 700MB with great quality so can this short clip
2 pass encoding does that although you have to tinker with other settings as well
This is a fine example of some encoding that took one HELL of a lot of work to get down to that file size, and still look good. Encoding, as you probably know, is a highly technical skill. I'm curious as well to know what exactly they did to get it to look this good, in only 3 megs.
Obviously the source video was superb, I'm thinking 24p video or something higher rez. Maybe 35mm.
I tried that they have some samples online @Originally Posted by jIgG

and they are unplayable in my pc so its proly not the same codec since I can view the bizarre video with no problems.
Thanks Buck ! Keep us posted!Originally Posted by Buck Angel
