Sound Recorder Recommendations
Okay I have a voice over project to work on, sort of a narration over and need to find a decent sound recorder program. There seem to be a ton available but am wondering, what does anyone use, if any, here?
The one I am looking at right now is Advanced Sound Editor that seems to be what I need.
The narration is about 35 to 50 minutes so the one that comes with XP naturally won't do. (bloody idiots have it set to 60 second recording)
The sound recorder needs to give me a wav file for use in windows media player and qtime as well, if possible.
Any ideas here? :signhere:

Most of the time your sound card will include a basic sound recorder, but if not, CoolEdit is a good serviceable application, and I think if you dig, you can prolly find a freeware or shareware version.
Syntrillium, who made CoolEdit, was acquired by Adobe, and Adobe Audition is a souped-up version of CoolEdit. If you have the $ to spend, Audition is an excellent program that I'd highly recommend, not only for this application, but also for cleaning up audio on video tracks.
Hope that helps!

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
Ian,
Once you have found something and learnt how to use it, id be interested in getting some stories narrated for a new site im working on

Thanks Chip but wow, $400 from Adobe (3 something but can't recall exactly the price) just out of the question. Anyhow I have downloaded the one I posted above, Advanced Sound Recorder and so far it seems to be okay. Just needed something bit more robust than the stupid one XP includes which only records for 60 seconds at a time. Like how stupid is that?
Lee, n/p will be in touch soon.

I'm a big fan of Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge. My copy is really old, I really should invest in the new one. But it's always worked really well for me. I got a free wave editor with my Creative sound card but I don't like it nearly as much.
