My entire family knows what I do. I'm not ashamed of it and I really would not want to be associated closely with anyone who does not appreciate me for who I am, not for what I "do". I am more than simply a job/career and that's how I approach things :-) The only thing I find difficult re: the adult biz is the shitty rap it gets from the US media!

    LOL.
I would have loved to have seen that. Heck, I would have paid $29.95 for an eyefull of that!

All should be good: he is German, so he must be used to beatings.

    My turn!
Now that is an awesome attitude, mister!

*Applying across the board - to all aspects of life (religion et cetera)*
Yup, I am sick of the people (such as th@ operatic windbag Oprah), and the media, responsible for fuelling the fires - they feed off of all the controversy because it makes for "good news" (replace "good" with "profitable").

I will not say the US as I see the same problems occur, world wide, more or less. Although they believe (more like wish) they "provide us only with the facts", both the BBC & CBC (Canada) are very guilty of strumming the harp for the sole purpose of receiving better ratings.

    Paco,

Thanks for the good words....btw, how was the early season ski adventure?

I'm planning on getting out to lake Michigan this Saturday to do some kayaking...always fun.

You are more than welcome, JV (not to be confused with JD or JC).

uh, OUCH is the first thing to come to mind.

It was an alpine start (3am).
We hiked (wearing tele/ski boots) for about 5-hours, before we hit snow.
Next, we skinned for about 4-hours, to the false summit - the true summit is too narrow (about 12-18" wide).
We set-up the lunch area, which is where I put together some shredded spicy pork with rice and fruit salads, as well boiled a truck load of snow, to refill the water bottles, while my flatm8 made "salad wraps" :paco:

Sent out smoke signals / paid our homage prior to our turning tail and heading home.
All that yielded about 4-hours worth of turns! Man, talk about earning them!

Here's something I rarely get to say: the third guy could not walk straight, for days!

    Kayaking is way cool!
Are you using an expedition style (extra compartments, deeper keel/?) or "stunt" version (short & wide, with a flat bottom)?
And are you going to practice your rolls?

I, too, do love the water sports (not joking, this time).

Does anyone around L.Michigan (LM) offer Kiteboard (kite and board) rentals? Or is there a power/traction kite reseller near you? (Most demo the gear.)
    If yes, TRY IT NOW!
NO! Do not continue reading on ... run, now!
It will be like the first time jumping out of a plane.
OMG … WOW! OMG … WOW! OMG … I need to change my shorts!

I say that because from what I remember, LM is very windy, and because traction & power kites (land &/or water) are sooooooooooo much fun and is a total (core, upper & lower) body workout!

Funny you should mention that Don. When I first told my family about our new business, they thought we were screwy because we had all come from a long line of horse people/equestrian types and the family didn't quite understand the "bareback" thing... they thought we'd gone "western" and worse, had trown out our good English saddles!

Once we got past that stupidity, everything was fine. My favorite uncle even said..."'That's good Tony, you know the Pope doesn't like condoms either - and we like the pope!"

    Family is funny.

    Paco,

expidition style kayak...no rapids so don't need flat/wide/short kayak...need space for cooler packs and the like...taking the girlfriend along and making her do some work this time (she is getting her own kayak ;-)

man your ski expidition sounds awesome (tough as hell) but rewarding too + "salad" wraps to boot!!! I wouldhave been :ill: if I joined in on that adventure....

My family knows. Since I do legal work I don't talk about the work I do and they don't ask. They just know that I am happy with my work and that I keep moving into bigger, nicer houses.

Coming out was a bit harder--the parents had a little [lot] of difficultly coming out of their own closet as parents of a gay son when I first came out to them, so I did the most rational thing and dragged them out by their britches -- I wrote a Letter to the Editor of the Des Moines Register lamenting how hard it was growing up gay in Iowa. I think I signed it "Chad Belville, former Worth County Attorney" or something like that. After that paper came out, everybody knew. My parents had been afraid that if everybody found out their son was gay the parents would get blamed. Nobody really cared!! And most already knew. So my coming out was not the drama anyone had expected, all those fears were unfounded.

Now my whole family knows what I do. I told my sister and brother a while ago, and about a month of so ago I told my mom and dad as well. First they were worried that it's illegal, but after explaining how it's done they seemed to calm down and have been accepting since.

It's much better to not have to hide anything from them and I know they feel better too, because they don't have to wonder about how I make my money.

As a Mother, I have always hoped that my Son's sexual nature would be het. Life is just so much harder, when you have to fight to live happy.

    That being said ...

My love is unconditional, and if he fell in love with a NICE guy, I'd buy a new dress and walk him down the white carpet with Pride. How any Mother, could deny her children the joys of a loving parnter, is way beyond me.

However, he did mention that all the girls in San Diego are HOT. :cheerleader: I hope he stays single for a LONG time.

    Oh..

    The topic.

Don't know how much my Father knows, but my Sister still hasn't gotten over the fact that I inflict pain on ppl for my pleasure.

Truth be told, I don't give a rat's ass! She made it quite clear what subjects she won't talk about - which is 90% of my life. Sometimes I can't believe we were raised in the same house. :jerkoff:

You know, I've heard a lot of people make the same statement and in all honesty, I used to get offended by it. But after really taking a look at it, I can totally understand what you mean. Gay people do have an uphill climb in this world and why would you want that for anyone. My folks wanted me to be captain of the football team and an honor student. But when I look at where th captain of my high school football team is now, and where some of my high school honor roll students ended up, I have to laugh. I may not be in an industry that everyone looks up to, but I'm doing a hell of a lot better than others.

Okay, I swear I had a point when I came in here. Oh well. Here's a ninja. :ninja:
