The person trying to get you signed up using their referral code doesnt actually promote them other than through webmaster referrals?
Seems to me that if someone doesnt have the confidence to promote a programs offerings themselves, asking me to promote the sites is kind of pointless.
Anyone else feel this way?

No, because some webmasters (like me) run webmaster resource sites and sign on to a lot of programs for the referral fee they earn from providing the sponsor/site information on their site. I happen to also have sites where I can promote the various niche sites, but even I would be hard pressed to actually promote thousands of porn sites offered by hundreds of sponsors.

It depends on the person..
IE : I'd sign up for anything from Bec cause she is a respectable person and I like her.
If I found it on the net without knowing the person...if I'm lazy yeah, if not I'll go to the actual base url

it makes absolutely no difference to YOUR bottom line if you sign up to a sponsor via a ref code, so if you found out about a sponsor from another webmaster why not give them some credit for it.
