The old city that sits below sea level is in the direct path of force 5 hurricane Katrina. New Orleans could potentialy be devastated by a direct hit. Because much of the city is 5-10 feet below sea level, the only way to remove flood water is by physically pumping it out. It's not looking good.

I was looking forward to Southern Decadence next week but it sure doesn't look like it's gonna happen this year. In fact, we had 2 trips to New Orleans planned for September. Barring some major shift in this storm, the people of New Orleans are going to be cleaning up/rebuilding for many weeks to come.
