The news is out

today is a holiday here in Germany I want to share with y'all - maybe some of you find time to celebrate with me..

Its.. *drums* TAXPAYER's DAY.

From today on until the end of the year we Germans work for our own good - not for taxes. Now ain't that great news, ey?

In 2006 we work roughly 51.02% for taxes and social securities like unemployment, helth, retirement and such. So they calculated the exact date to July 5th, 05:35 a.m. German time

A while ago "Taxpayer Day" was a little earlier - 1991 it was on June, 30th and in 1960 even 1st of June.

In 2000 Taxpayer day was at 56,3% of the year - that was the latest ever. Since then the burdon on us dropped 5.3%

We have some more to celebrate: the big coalition here is about to make way for a warmer holiday by shifting the Taxpayer Day further back thus rising our taxes & social contributions.

woohoooooooo *running around naked*
