So ive been doing some checking around the various link lists, tgps and other traffic sources the last couple of hours and i actually noticed that a lot of the sites are not using as many animated banners as they used to do.

Do you think that we have evolved as an industry to the point where we no longer need the 'flashy', 'click here now', 'amazing offer' type marketing or do you think this is just another phase of pandering to the surfer not wanting to see that type of marketing material?

Your thoughts, has the animated banner started to die?
