So i just spoke to my mum today over in England and discovered that for some unknown reason, she decided to get a remortgage on the house that she only had $25k left to pay off before she owned it outright.

Thankfully she only signed the paperwork Thursday so im hoping she is still going to be in the grace period to cancel it so that we can actually pay the remaining balance off of her house and get it setup in trust for one of my sister.

I just dont understand how anyone can take out a remortgage on a home they are pretty much free and clear of owing the mortgage company anything on.
