When it comes to posts on blogs, do you think there is a certain formula to making sales from blog posts?

For example, does the size, quantity and raunchiness (is that even a word?) of the text make a difference or is it all to do with how you format your images?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what makes a good blog post to generate sales?
