Stats Counter released its monthly browser stats showing that Chrome is on its way up and poised to take over second position from Firefox. This jump in Chrome usage comes thanks to both IE and FF losing users.

Chrome has increased its share by a remarkable 50% since January 2011. During that same period, Firefox’s share has declined 13%. The intersection of these ascending and descending paths falls sometime in November. That's why StatCounter is predicting that in December, Chrome will jump to #2 and should hold 26.6% of global use compared to Firefox’s 25.3% share. These last numbers are of course speculation, but based on solid trends. Only time will tell.
