Google has changed the name of its update this week from the Webspam update to Penguin.

If you weren't aware, this latest update targeted sites that Google claims are setup using web spamming techniques to increase SEO, including techniques like:
- Keyword stuffing
- Link schemes
- Cloaking, “sneaky” redirects or “doorway” pages
- Purposeful duplicate content
all meant to get better search results on Google.

This was a pretty severe update, with Google itself estimating that it will impact about 3% of search queries.
