simple change that EVERYBODY needs to make on their website homepages.

The new 2257 regs, which are not yet in effect, will require a 2257 link on every home page.

The example used in the rules is that http://www.usdoj.gov is the homepage and anything under it, such as http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal is covered if there is a 2257 link on the homepage. HOWEVER, http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/ovc is NOT considered covered by having a link on http://www.usdoj.gov and would have to have its own 2257 link.

NEXT, the 2257 link language is specified by the new rules. This is an easy thing for everyone to change! Instead of just having your link say "2257" or 18 US 2257" it must read
18 U.S.C. 2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Compliance Statement

that can open a new window.



SO:

1. Make sure you have a 2257 link on every home page
2. Make sure the 2257 link uses the language called for that I set out above.
