cronyism in government has always been around, but in the past, they tried to get people into high profile spots who could either do the work or get it done. i'm sure this was more about political survival rather than concern for the people, but it worked out for all.

not to mention that in the past, MANY organizations got contracts for things involved in war or emergencies. now it's only ONE company :-/
