To me, living in a free society doesn't mean you can commit crimes and be anonymous... whatever those crimes are. To me knowing who molested a child, or raped someone, or whatever helps me be more informed of my surroundings and where I'm raising my child. Back in the day we all knew our neighbors living in small towns and communities and we'd know who/where to stear clear from. Today things are drastically different.

Many things happen when someone is convicted of these crimes, the paper reports the results, you have to goto parol, prison, felons can't vote, etc. Another consquence of your actions is being listed. If a guy is having sex in the bushes with another adult, or in the back of the bar, they know the consequences.. and that's often a turn on.. someone seeing or them getting caught. Don't do it if you don't want to face the consequences right?

I would personall love to know not only if a child molester lived nearby, but also a murder, rapist, or someone with a history of violient crime. That's just me. Am I going to vote on it, no. Am I going to campaign for it, no. But if it happens you can bet I'd utilize the service to make my life better, in a heartbeat. If you value your privacy and rights, then don't commit these kinds of crimes. My .00002 cents.
