Why Is There A Lack Of Niches In The Gay Market?

there is a lack of niches in the str8 market, too. most webmasters would rather follow a format that works for someone than take a risk.

about a year and a half ago, i noticed there wre no big programs or medium programs with str8 handjob sites. i started asking around and bugging people because my handjob avs site was selling off the hook. obviously the niche was jamming.

after 6 months of nagging, every program came out with a handjob site - and most of them use the same content *LOL* few or none really got the niche, but they heard it made money.

i have had a grandpa site (men over 55 only) that sold particularly nicely for me. also girls with freckles, girls in socks, men in glasses, women in glasses, real grandma content without bullshit text about cookies and crap, and tons of other niches you still can't find many or any sites to represent. the only reason i can imagine for this is that people in our industry don't want to take chances or do any work on a project unless it's been validated by someone else first. after all, shooting content isn't that expensive for an avs site to test the niche and setup is virtually free for an avs site.

Thats true to some extent, especially for those of us who like promoting those micro niches

That being said though, there are still far more straight niches that have sites developed for them than there are for their gay counterparts.

Using one of the examples you mentioned below, handjobs, as you said, pretty much every program worth their salt have a str8 handjob site yet, they dont have a gay handjob site. You'd figure, the content, for the most part, could be cross-compatible between the gay market and straight niche.

Thats my point i guess, all of the straight niches you mentioned there, could very easily be marketed to gay surfers.

The only thing, in my eyes, up to a point, that really couldnt be marketed to gay surfers, would be things like boob sites or pussy fetish sites but then, even that could be cross-market compatible to some extent.

I just dont understand why, if these companies have a lot of content anyway, even if its custom shoots, why they cant also use the models in these shoots to promote a similar niche for the gay market place. It just seems like they are leaving money (and a lot of it) on the table.

What about butt sites / or rimming ?? or toys?? or Maybe ass play sites?? Just wondering I have seen all these sites claiming to be good butt sites or ass sites or toys sites and there aweful.. With dates content or screen caps they pulled from a video or something like that and I havent seen it done well especially for people like me and alot of others that I know like it alot... kelly - you're so right. rimming is another niche that is totally lacking, even without micro niches. i see sites that claim rimming content, but usually it's the same old porn movies i've seen before with like 1 minute of rimming in it somewhere.

I think it also goes to say that some gay men would buy into such a site to see straight twinks doing their thing. Not to mention the straight men who are sick and tired of seeing 18yo models paired with 35yo men.
