I found that Citiboyz did interviews for the one of the first of their flicks I saw, Tent Poles I think it was, and I found the 'interviews' enjoyable. It wasn't so much asking questions as the model/star just talking more of himself and things, made it a whole lot more interesting

Plus I think it could be an excellent marketing tool if you had other videos with those actors in them, they could push them in the so called interview... i mean some fall for an actor, ya know like that Kelly Taylor or Pierre Guys? Be nice to have them tell you what other movies they are in...:signhere:
I can recommend Citi Boyz's Real & Raw Las Vegas double feature as an interesting and charming interview method. I would think that interviews would be a fantastic marketing tool for a movie or website studio. The cautions on this thread are also valid. Some of Falcon's Alone With one on one segments are wonderful for the fan of that particular model.

Raging Stallion will sometimes have Michael Brandon or JD Slater interviewing a model over in the DVD extras. Those can make a good "extra" for a DVD.... and I'm always interested in the quest to create a noteworthy dvd extra.

Consider renting any of those for some pointers on the "production side" of the equation.

I fast forward through the undressing and foreplay, so interviews are just one more thing to fast forward through....

but then I am kind of ultra slutty, so I am probably not the best gauge of porn buyer's preferences......

i agree with bec completely. and to fill it in, interviews allow the viewer to have a feeling of involvement with the model.

i like interviews. if the model is stiff or uncomfortable, a shorter interview makes him seem shy - and if you're not sure shy is how he's coming off, write about that in the text.

i have seen some interviews that were not a plus to the videos. interviews where the interviewer keeps talking about non sexual stuff while the guy is jacking off is misleading as it's splitting both the model's attention and the viewers. frank did one interview video - his first - where he was talking to the model about his cooking career while the guy was hard and jacking off. it obviously made it more difficult for the model to keep it up, and it certainly made it harder for me to think about sex while this guy is telling us how he got his first chef position *LOL* i've seen stuff like that on other videos, too.

interviews that talk about one thing for an extended period of time can be boring. like a guy talking about his college major for 10 minutes - that's why editing exists!

but a i feel that a well-edited interview is a plus to almost any video.

I suppose it's important to never forget why folks watch our stuff. They watch it to get off. Interviews ain't gonna get'em off.

It all depends on what you're producing and what your approach to videos is.

With some companies, I don't much care to see interviews of their models. I prefer to assign my own mannerisms and elements to the models, and then watch them do what they do with that in mind.

With CorbinFisher.com, on the other hand, interviews are a big part of what we do. Every model is introduced through an interview that kicks off their solo. Our members develop an interest in the models as individuals, and like to follow their progression through what they do and the kinds of action they engage in on our site. They develop a connection with the models, and become quite fond of the models. So they're not only watching for the sex action alone, but they care a great deal about WHO is in that action and watch the models engaging in what they're doing within the context of that models personality, their history on the site, what they've done before, and who they are and what they're like.

Sometimes that can work against the model. A super hot guy who comes across as less than personable in the interview won't develop much of a following. But on the flip side of that coin, even a model who has a less than stellar performance or who doesn't have the greatest body or whose last couple videos haven't been up to par is still so well liked on account of their personality and the fondness members have developed for them that they are still well received and embraced.

So for us... interviews are a big part of what we do. Our individual models - their personalities, mannerism, who they are, what turns them on, how they act and behave and their interests and likes and dislikes and sexual histories and so on - are a big part of what we produce, and interviews in turn play a big part in that.

That's exactly why I suggest having the interviews, Brian! Establishing that sense of one-on-one identification can really help that long road of site and model recognition and opens a wide range of marketing opportunities.

If the interview or chatter is text prior to the clip offerings, that's fine, surfers who don't want to read it know how to scroll. And if the interview is on video, offer it as a clip and LIST it as the interview ... the member can choose to view or not -- his choice, but now you have that clip for softsells, fhg galleries and so on.
