Kaspersky is the best
Very cool, thanks so much guys! Going to check them out as soon as I get my computer back from the shop....hope she's gonna be okay. :uhoh:
I wouldn't fully rely on just one.
Every so often I'll run several of the free online scanners at once to see if mine missed anything.
I post here to whore this sig.
avast picked up stuff kapersky missed. i recommend avast if you are only going to use one virus program. i use avast and zonealarm.
I believe no antivirus title is good on its own - persons (especially in our industry) should have multiple scanners.
I use Alwil's Avast (the best by far) as my main scanner (I scan every other day), along with Kerio Personal Firewall (ZoneAlarm crashes way too often, does not play nice with other software and is nowhere near as powerful), Lavasoft's AdAware & Safer-Networking's Spybot TeaTimer. I also use Trendmicro's (trendmicro.com or antivirus.com) Housecall for a weekly scan or when I feel I have a problem. Kaspersky is okay, but find the list is nowhere near as extensive as Panda or Raven.
MHO, the worse title I have ever purchased (and stupidly renewed license) is Symantec's/Norton’s AntiVirus --- WOW, what a waste of cash that was.
I used to work in a big IT shop, and our security people swore by TrendMicro because they have engineers stationed in those parts of the world where most viruses start, and generally had updated virus patterns hours before anyone else.
thanks, Paco. i'm gonna try kerio. zonealarm does have some weird and annoying habits when used with other programs that i could live without...

Kerio is such a good product that it was picked-up by another good company Sunbelt Software (http://www.sunbelt-software.com/).
I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.
