1,200 visitors - only 3 sales?!?!

Hey guys,

I'm sitting here scratching my head. I've expanded my video feed site http://adult.vegasonesource.com

The traffic is good - over 1,200 visitors so far this month, but only 3 sales? The search engines have picked up the site and the major keywords send traffic, but...

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

A conversion ratio of 1:400 is not horrible. You should not approach it with an "is that it?" mentality. It seems you must be doing something right or those conversions would not happen at all. Now what you should be doing since your site appears to be converting, is increasing the traffic flow to the site and get it up to as many thousands per day as you can and if you can keep your 1:400 ratio, then you will make some money. However, depending on the type of traffic that you go after, your conversions will change for the better or worse and thus the biggest challenge to adult webmasters..how to get quality converting traffic to your website.

I also noticed that your links to MaleFlixxx return a 500 Server Error. You promote them pretty heavily on that page. So depending on the time frame that the error has been happening it could be why.

I have a different take. I think your page is too busy.

Essentially people are inadvertantly clicking on the wrong thing, so therefore will not buy.

You are trying to properly identify movie tastes for such diverse products as Colt, Hot Desert Knights, Falcon and Kristen Bjorn all crammed up into several wordy paragraphs. Those are completely different audiences.

I also know from my days in retail selling, that for best results you want to hand everything to the prospect completely clearly. If you link to A Matter of Size 2 or Score, you want to take them to that specific movie on Maleflixxx, not the dynamic top ten. Maleflixx will sell very well for you that way.

well the point is that their is allot more traffic available, that is his biggest problem as I see it, and that he should be working to boost it. Cleaning up the site would not hurt as well

When I click on the links they work for me - not sure why you'd get a 500 error, but it could be MaleFlix being busy.

Could be, I just checked again and they work now. I mainly mentioned it because that has been the reason for low sales for me in the past. Not specifically with MaleFlixxx, but with programs in general. Sometimes programs change something in their program and don't tell anyone or check their links to make sure they still work correctly.

You might also try building some little additions to that page and break things up. Like Steve pointed out it is a little busy. So breaking things up into sub-sections of that main page will give you more real estate to work with and more pages to bring in SE traffic.

To follow up on desslock, most of the Maleflixxx top 10 movies you've listed aren't on their dynamic Top 10 anymore. So it'd be tough for visitors to find what you're promoting.

I've asked myself before, "Jeez do I really need to keep on top of stuff like that all the time?" Yes, you do. Direct movie links are the best way to go until you refresh your list again.

Also, VOD tends to convert in a balloon over time. Patience and consistency.

Mike - don't be disheartended by 1:400 conversion.

I'm getting a lot of TGP and MGP traffic which converts way worse than that and I'm not converned.

What seems to convert better for you - text links with info on the movie or banner ads, or both (i.e. picture of the movie with text)?

I use a lot of video covers, model photos AND descriptions. We're men. We're pigs. We're VISUAL. Use text for the search engines. Use pics for the visitors.

If you can write your own descriptions (using good keywords), the better off you'll be. The pre-written stuff is often not very useful for search engines, and can outright sound cheesy -- "Watch two masculine guys as they consumate their erotic relationship in this hedonistic adventure!"

If that makes anybody hard... :wacko:

In a nutshell, you want to turn them on if they're not already. Use whatever methods are at your disposal. model pics, covers, dirty talk...
