You know, I've often thought that it was a shame big Hollywood movies only show you what you need to see. I loved Dazed and Confused because the whole movie was a day in the life of these high school kids in 1976. There were small plot lines and one thread that kept the movie running, but not every scene had significant importance, a lot of it just made you feel good or unlock a memory. There have been lots of movies where I wished they had shown more of a really cool supporting character but wouldn't because it didn't further the plot. I haven't seen Brokeback yet so I'm not disagreeing with you. Your comment just made me think of that.
