The bottom line is, with regard to the stings, healthy adults don't have any interest in seducing or engaging 14 or 15 year old kids in sexual talk, so if somebody takes the bait, it's likely they have either taken the bait before, or are in serious need of help.

Every so often some kid will message me and try to be flirtatious. I just point out that (a) I'm not interested, (b) there are a lot of predators out there, and he should really put his energies into finding people his own age.

It probably doesn't do any good, but sometimes it seems like these kids have never had *anyone* who is an adult (other than a parent, perhaps) speak with them unless they wanted something or were otherwise trying to exploit them, and some of them just seem to learn to try to "out manipulate" the adults that are trying to manipulate them. It's a sick world.
