Well don’t think I will be going to LA pride, but the Long Beach Pride Parade will be going by the fount of my place so in a way I will attend that.

LA Pride has been a slow disappointment over the last few years. The people who attend seem focused on drinking, partying and getting laid. Don't get me wrong. There's fun to be had doing that stuff!

However if you're a business owner and you want to target an audience my recommendation is to head to Long Beach, San Francisco, or even Phoenix. Personally, those shows have been much more successful in terms of doing business. If you're an East Coast boy or girl, definitely make DC and Atlanta two of your pride show stops.

I may not be in LA for Pride but will definitely be up there for business at least once a month to promote projects I'm working on.

why shouldn't l.a. pride be a great big party? it's supposed to be fun! i don't even drink and it's always a blast. i'd love to do some business on the side, but i go to pride to help myself remember what it was like in quentin crisp's day, and in my early days when things were still pretty iffy - and today the gay, lesbian, bi and trans communities can have a parade. we're legal, we have supporting groups like pflag - and that's worth celebrating!

Thanks for pointing out why Pride Day anywhere is starting to suck.. kinda by accident.

Long Beach Pride sucks horse cock. There's virtually nothing to do there other than buy shit and get targeted by businesses.

Pride Day should be about the community.. not for banks and time share companies hocking their wares.

Pride Day sucks now becuase companies who bring nothing to the community are all showing up and deluging us with their sales pitch.

Toronto is the only one left that's still just a big street party, and that's becuse they sacrificed the parade to the corporations.

I'm not really a fan of Gay Pride (it's become too commerical, and is more about "product" and "scene" instead of anything rooted in genuinely altruistic goals), so I never go unless A) I get free entry or B) someone interesting is playing. The only time I've ever gone to L.A. Pride was for exactly two hours so I could see Debbie Harry play last summer. I went in, went straight to my seat in the front row, watched the show, then stopped by one of the concession stands to get a Hawaiian BBQ chicken bowl, then made my quick exit. That was the most ideal Pride experience I've ever had. LOL! Quick and relatively painless!

I MIGHT go this year to see Berlin and the Bangles play. Other than that, though, I have no interest. These days, I'm more annoyed by the gay community than I am proud of it.
