I just thought that shooting in other peoples houses would give me a variety of different backgrounds on the shoots, making them more interesting. Kind of like Paul Morris movies.

But doing that could put me in some harrowing situations.

all good answers here! , primarily though it's a safety issue , especially when working alone , you never know how many people may be in the home waiting to film you.
in regards to studio's and backgrounds you can check with other content producer's/photographers here for different locations , some maybe in your own area.
i also would not suggest working alone with a model in a studio either ( he said , she said ) always have someone alongside , even if their making coffee / holding the light / etc.
