Marines looking for a few good MySpace pals

KANEOHE, Hawaii - Teens looking to hook up with a friend on the popular Web community MySpace may bump into an unexpected buddy: the U.S. Marine Corps.

So far, over 12,000 Web surfers have signed on as friends of the Corps in response to the latest military recruiting tactic. Other military branches may follow.

You know, if this is a recruitment tactic I wonder if they're going to monitor the Marine's sites. I mean, could you imagine some kid asking a marine how thier life is and getting a reply like "wow, it really sucks here, save yourself some misery and work in a gas station" or something. LOL!

Haha i saw that on the local news here a few nights back and it seems like a really good way to generate new recruits but yeah, one of the first things i thought was the same as what you just said, some private getting pissed at the MC and posting something like that or, posting naked marine pics LOL
