I would agree with them IF you arent getting any new (or potentially new) business from the boards you post on.

Posting on boards 'just because' is a complete waste of time and serves nobody, not you, not your program and certainly not the boards other community members.

There are only a couple of situations where you need to post at a board on a regular basis...

1) Because you need help with something.
2) Because you are promoting your business, product or service.
3) Because you are networking and making business contacts.
4) Because you are sharing important information.

In my opinion, anyone who posts on boards for reasons other than those 4 are wasting their time and energy in addition to the other board members time and energy.

There are exceptions to the rule but, for the most part, if you are posting on a board for reasons other than those 3, chances are, you would be better suited flipping burgers at Wendys than working in the adult industry.

Boards were started to help webmasters grow their businesses, not to be the sole reason for their businesses.

I just post on the board for fun, to talk to others that do the same thing as me “after all sometimes its like living in a bottle doing this” and something to do while I am working my 18 hour days. Everything does not have to be about impressing other people, or some other rigged PR BS. I learn something’s, share something’s, but most of all just fuck around. I know I have made some people dislike me over this, but this is not American Idol I do not need your votes. If you can not deal with ME then that’s fine, like I have said before at least its really me you have a problem with and not just another SPAM bot. $0.02

I think your credibly, takes a big shot with that statement. Sounds like your opinions, and most statements are rather self-serving to me then. I guess we should all keep that in mind when you talk about your service and all your competitors. :footmouth:

You arent a rep and you have nothing to sell plus, hardly anyone on GWW pays any attention to you anyway $0.02

That being said, you are a perfect example of what i mentioned above and why its bad for individuals businesses to post when they have no reason to :thumbsup:

For me, a rep is just that, someone who represents their company and what they post does help give me a clue as to whether I want to do business with them or not, and yes, when they are absent from boards and business threads it does influence my decisions to a degree. Is it a deal breaker? Nah.

That is a great question. One that is difficult (more like impossible) to answer with one word (yes/no).

First, my reason for being on the boards is quite different from th@ of most of you, I am quite sure.
(Please, do not venture off to la-la land thinking I do not work, 'cause that would be silly.) Reeling in webmasters, and doing biz is NOT my main objective - sorry if that has let you down or hurt your feelers!

Next, I rarely 'use' the services of my account reps, but if I did, and they constantly acted like a troll, on a board I was a member with, I am very very sure I would not deal with them.
What they are capable of matters not if/when they are propelled by mean-spirited acts --- they've become useless to me! ! !

A person not replying to the serious posts (only posts replies to light-hearted threads) speaks not of their abilities - how can it? Believing in something like th@ would be silly and truly close-minded - not everybody is interested in wearing their abilities on their sleeves, & maybe they are not interested in sharing with others, unless they know the relationship will be truly mutual!
(If a person wants to see what their rep is capable of, so they can have some real “confidence” in them, they should contact them and put them to the test. Not post a specific question (for th@ proggy/rep) on a message board, because th@ curious George just made an ass out of themselves (you’ve assumed all reps read all boards or use board tracker)!
The rest says squat about what they are capable of, in relation to ‘web mastering’!

Speaking of reps: a new rep was designated to us, without notice from the one we JUST had. I contacted the new rep, welcomed him, and informed him that since they were switching around reps on us, I wanted to have a specific one. WOW, did th@ person get all bent out of shape (something along the lines of "fine, I understand ... you want your 'friend' as your rep ... wah wah wah").
Well, my 'friend' was released and our accounts were given back to the same whiner! Can you just imagine what I get from this person now?

Talk about a disfunctional relationship, and an inablitly for the company to recognize something so apparant. Oh yah ... that person does not post, here, so do I have confidence in his ability (to accept) ... damn crooked!

Happenings like those above are what speak volumes to me, not fluff-posters.

All I can say on that is: hmm, now which of my " " friends " " am I going to send this suddenly available traffic to!
