Owning a fairly new program myself it’s interesting to read this thread.
I certainly didn’t start my program expecting affiliates to sign up overnight and I would get rich. That certainly wasn’t the plan, and I am not that delusional.

I wanted to start a pay site for over a year, but did not. The time wasn’t right. I ran my first pay site GlobeBoys.com for a few months before considering the formation of an affiliate program.

I do agree however there are lots of very small programs, clearly put together in a matter of days, that really are not up to scratch. A lot of these I see are Eastern European sites that don’t just lack in providing effective tools for marketing sites, but also in customer service and quite usually very badly written English.

What I do notice however is a lot of the newer programs, such as Zbuckz.com, are coming up with cracking ideas when it comes to new forms of marketing tools. The question I ask is WHY are the big guys not doing this? As previously said by MaxPower, I think these big programs become very complacent, and loose their way. Not all of them however, but some.

To sum things up, I like seeing new and fresh sponsors, with new sites, and new approaches, but I think there are a good few sponsors out there who haven’t found the right means to succeed.
