The following is a job opening for an offsite Senior PHP (LAMP) Developer.

A growing online community / social networking site is seeking a Senior PHP developer to help build and scale the next generation of our website.


DESCRIPTION
  • Ensure that applications are fully available and implemented on schedule and that solutions are scalable, reliable, and effective.
  • Maintain established turn around time for project completion and implementation; respond to emergencies (including off-hours emergencies) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Produce reliable, scalable, and effective solutions that anticipate rapid future growth.
  • Be a self-starter that can work from your home without direct supervision.
  • Work with other colleagues to maintain defined standards, develop improvements to standard techniques such as documenting code, using company established guidelines, and sharing knowledge.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that deals with gay adult content as a matter of business.


REQUIREMENTS
  • 4+ years of PHP (PHP 5 OOP), MySQL, and Linux
  • Working knowledge of Apache
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, RUBY, and other web 2.0 technologies.
  • Solid understanding of security issues that pertain to web development
  • Experience with structured code libraries, frameworks, open source projects
  • Experience with scaling in PHP & MySQL
  • Solid understanding of caching & templating (such as Smarty).
  • Enthusiasm for coding


PREFERED
  • Experience with Vbulletin
  • Experience with building social networks
  • Experience with load balancing, clustering
  • Caching experience
  • SEO
  • Flash/Action Scripting, Video streaming
