Another Hollywood Couple Down

Just months after he was crying his eyes out over Reese's Oscar win for Walk the Line--and just a week after he declared his love for his family in Entertainment Weekly--actor Ryan Phillipe has split from Witherspoon. It's always so funny how there is such a dichotomy between the public and private lives of Hollywood people. Can you imagine having to lead a double life like that? Telling everyone everything is all hunky-dory when your life is really going down the toilet.

I bet those gay rumors about Phillipe resurface with a vengeance now.

It's a sad sad thing, I really thought we had an all time great Hollywood couple. Guess no one can last in Tinsel Town.

We have had some, and we still have many. Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon. Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn. Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek. William H. Macey and Felicity Huffman.

There are some great "industry couples" out there, but not all of them are as high-profile as Reese and Ryan or Tim and Katie. But these were and are the real deal, I think.
