I post on boards not to get my signature seen but to learn and grow as a webmaster. I have studied marketing and whilst it seems pertinent to take advantage of every opportunity presented to me IMHO I think that utilising your sig as an advertising resource for products or services other than your own shows that you either don't need to sell your product (because it sells itself) or you don't have confidence in your product (and therefore don't promote it).

Either way I like to think that if you make a valued contribution to the board that generally board regulars will support you in new endeavours regardless of your sig as they know that you are committed to your new programs and projects and therefore can be rightly justified in expecting a quality high paying site/project.
