You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
Are You More Likely To Promote A Sponsor If They Post On The Boards?
I was just wondering, as affiliates are you more likely to promote a sponsors paysites if they are posting on the industry boards regularly as oppose to not posting on the boards?
To some extent i think i am personally more likely to test out the sites being offered by people i see posting on a regular basis over those individuals and companies who perhaps post only once or twice a week, was just curious to see how the rest of you felt about promoting sponsors who post on the industry forums regularly compared to those that dont.
Does it even matter to you?

Lee

Yes, it matters to me. If I know they're on the boards, I know they're easier to get a hold of if I need something or have a problem.
Plus, I kind of think, if you're not on the boards, what or why are you hiding? I know we're all busy and boarding may seem like a time-waster or a luxury, but for me, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The people who are most likely to get my attention are the ones who board, send me e-mails, send me weekly updates.
Cheers

Only if the sponsor offers me/us that which makes me/us money --- big dick sites!
I tend to give away money (traffic, joins, referrals etc) when at the boards, because I am being nice to those I chat with.
Boards are where I go to play and relax - most of my dealing are done via e-mail, which is my preferred method.

I would have to say that I am more likely to sign up as an affiliate to those that I see on the boards. If I am going to give traffic to someone I would like to know who I am giving it to. Those that I do have a friendly encounter with are more likely to grab my attention. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, it's a lot easier to contact someone via the boards if necessary.
Now with that being said, who wants some traffic?

I think for myself that's somewhat true. However I have found a large number of sites that I affiliate with that rarely if ever post on the boards or not at the boards that I do.

Yes, I would be more likely to promote them. Of course, that's unless they make a bad impression on the board
otherwise, if they seem to be decent and friendly and people know them, to me that indicates they are honest folks and less likely to shave me.

Yes 100% - easier to contact them and as somebody said - some give off bad vibes and can be avoided.
