We seem to be doing OK. Perhaps being in such a niche we dont ever seem to get the flux of traffic that everyone else is mentioning. We seem to be really steady with the number of new sales...and of course our recurring is always good.

The only time I ever notice even a slight slowdown is in July. Which I blame on Apple Pie. Dont ask why.

I just launched a new site and sales have been off the charts .

I think November is going to be my best November in 4 yrs, but I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that I don't get these up/downs a few of you have been talking about.

If you are currently down....don't worry too much it'll pick up again, it always does :luke:

This is Dave walking into room with cap in hand.....

    WTF happened?
Since my post above (karma's a bitch huh!) Sales seemed to switch off accross the board.....my own sites & my sponsor links have been hit with almost a 40% drop in sales...I tell you if the last two days are anything to go by, this will just end up being a very average month.

Traffic hasn't dropped, I'm wondering if VISA has done something to processors even?

Anyway, thanks for allowing me to join the group....

We send out hundreds and hundreds of thousands of uniques to affiliates each month which I think kind of gives a macro view of the gay affiliate side of the business. I was trying to think of a way to share my data without giving out anything propriatary. So what I'm left with is something that I'm not sure will help anyone of you or not but I thought I would try to share with you the trending we have experienced this year.

    Jan 1:156
    Feb 1:156 - Traffic -1.13%
    Mar 1:211 - Traffic +74.74%
    Apr 1:197 - Traffic +5.97%
    May 1:154 - Traffic +11.98%
    Jun 1:184 - Traffic -5.86%
    Jul 1:168 - Traffic -4.56%
    Aug 1:176 - Traffic +.28%
    Sep 1:166 - Traffic -1.3%
    Oct 1:165 - Traffic +11%
    Nov 1:165 - Traffic +7.23%

There is some flucuation in conversions, but not a lot. Conversions in Sept through today is about as consistent as you can get and traffic is up.

You can see there was a bit of a summer slowdown in June and July as far as traffic is concerned, but not enough to offset the gains in April and May.

September was off but part of that small decrease is because it has 1 less day then the month before it. November, on the other hand, has 1 less day than October, but based on the month so far I'm still expecting a gain of 7.23% over October.

Like I said, I'm not sure if this really helps anyone out there or not, but I think it shows that while traffic flucuates, the conversions (especially in these last few months) are amazingly consistent. Traffic is also picking up going into the winter which is consistent with my data going all the way back to 1998. We have always done better as it gets cold outside and the days get shorter in the Northern hemisphere. I hope that if I were to share data at the end of January it would continue to reflect that this coming year as well.

We send hits to over 150 different programs so its a wide mix of billers and types of content. That's why I think of it as a kind of macro view of things... at least on the gay side of the equation. Then again, maybe there are so many other factors that might numbers really don't mean anything to someone else. Anyway, I hope someone can get something useful out of this.

Firstly thanks for sharing, you are right, your humongous traffic base does 'even' things out for you to easily be able to see an overall trend which helps us with smaller traffic to feel at ease.

I was right there with you expecting that nice rise, as I had mentioned in my earlier post, but if I see too many more days like the last two over the next 9 days, it could easily wipe out the early lead I got in the first 2 1/2 weeks of the month.

Again thanks for sharing, with that said I'm off to post some more tgp's

    Cheers

    Is CCbill even online today?

Thankfully my #1 sponsor has switched over to Segay and Epoch and they seem to be processing just fine.

Lately CCBill's customer service has gone to shit. I don't know what is up with them but if it doesn't improve pretty damn quick they are going to be history as far as I'm concerned.
