I disagree.

The % I pay to BP to host our 3 gay member-based sites is well worth every fraction of the cost. I love that our retention is tight and that they do a TON of outside advertizing.

You see, anything that saves me paperwork, gives access to my members to ALL the 100+ BP Contributors, sends internal, super-filtered traffic, who charged back under $100 in `06 and has a TOS that keeps us WELL above US law ...

Maybe this young man has enough content to carry a non-network site, but my advice would be to connect up with Lisa at BP and have a lil chat. BP is also a big presence at the right events, which shows me a robust company, and it is a pleasure to work with such an a honest and hard werkin' crew!
