Link list, directory, or even portal are terms that apply to a site taking permanent links and showing them in categories, and usually asking for a link back. These are usually managed by something like a Gossamer Thread script or phpLinkDirectory script for instance.

A LINK DUMP is different. Here's an example of a link dump Adult Matrix ... you can submit a link, and usually it appears immediately, and a recip link is optional. There's rarely an option to "categorize" the link submitted. Eventually, the link you submit moves further down the list and will disappear as others are submitted, as the table is set to show a certain link total. It's a way to gain a free temporary inbound link and short term traffic. Scripts for dumplinks might be like the Plug a Thug or phpLinkDropper

This is a directory of link dumps: it's not a link dump itself, but a listing of other sites that are: LinkDumps

Hopefully that will clear up why I was confused by the Dump part of the new site name you have built.

You're gonna get me so educated no one's gonna be able to stand me.:wtf:

I'm familiar with the link dumps that are out there, what I didn't like about them, and why we started Gay Blog Dump, is that you are correct, they appear immediately and then, then start moving down and eventually vanishing. They kind of get lost in the shuffle.

I wanted something that we could constantly keep the links that dump there in prominent view with their banners and description.....and continually rewards those sending traffic to Gay Blog Dump by keeping doing small reviews and featuring their banners more frequently thus sending traffic back to them as the site grows.

I do appreciate you taking the time to clear this up and to educate this dumb hillbilly.
