Well all i can say is thank god Squirt isnt attacking me for once. Sorry to the parties hes moved on to, but he should move on again soon and leave you be as he did with me.

And all this stuff about Max. This might not be the best threat to talk about it, however i just have one quick comment.

I dont know Max at all. Never directly spoken to him as far as i know. I read all the posts he makes and for some reason i dont have the reaction a lot of you do. Take a step back, read his posts again, and even if it does contain a little insanity you WILL see the reason behind his rants.

And in regard to AVN, a clear envelope would make me blink a few times. If i lived in Texas, id be looking for a new place :hmm:

Ive had trouble with previous neighbours (mainly kids) finding out im gay. If they found i was gay and doing adult that would give them alot of fun. Im not ashamed of either but i dont want it broadcast to the world.

yes Michael - in answer to your original question - they are insane....

we get several copies (don't ask me why) delivered to our house AND PO Box and they are sometimes wrapped in solid black plastic and sometimes in clear (like Laura Palmer) - its not that its an embarrassment to see them strewn beneath the mail box on the front stoop of our BH home (!) - I'm just worried about youngins like the girl scouts seeing them when they come over to sell us some of those new fangled "0 trans fat" cookies....

thing is, product should never go out without the appropriate cover - adult business owners should know better - you never know where your product is going to end up.... what if these magazines were, are (have been) delivered to the wrong address?!?!?

agreed! , i believe some "post-material" should be wrapped (interpreted: one of the main reason's i buy off the newsrack cause i'm afraid my gay mail carrier will snag my monthly copies!) i use to cringe everytime i recieved "muscle media" in the mail with some hot guy half-naked on the cover in plain view (i do adult , go figure!) and that's not even an adult magazine. (playgirl /advocate men/honcho/playboy/penthouse/hustler all come wrapped...i've checked!)
in regards to maxpower , i find he "stimulates" conversation (interpreted: there are those who say the glass is half-empty , there are those that say half-full , and then there are those that say why put water in a glass anyways?) and although i may not "get-him" immediately (interpreted: some of his points need to "evolve" , isn't that what being here is all about? , discussing ideas?) i don't think he should be banned.
in regards to everyone else here , there is really no one here i hate (hate is such a strong word as usually consumes the person feeling it! , do you really have time for it?) there are a couple i find quite "disrespectful" , but it has always been my choice to either work with you , through you , or completely around you. And AVN still hasn't replied to my original point. They addressed Lee's not receiving his magazine, but somehow that took precedence over why AVN is shipping out their mags in clear plastic envelopes.

Actually Lee did give Max time out a while ago. I cant remember when it happened or even why but im sure it did.

Squirt does this time an time again. Many of us have had our share. If he doesnt like you he tells lies, post rubbish and seeks out reasons to be nasty and vicous. Hes a troll. Max is 100% annoying but even he doesnt behave that way.

I'd say this post is a form of attacking another member, just as Squirt's over-the-top post to Michael was the same. It's just posted in a different manner. Really, we shouldn't be calling each other trolls and making accusations about them when they aren't even here to defend themselves. That's just plain common, IMHO.

However, thanx, Squirt, for taking up for AVN, even if you did get a little out of hand in doing so. Hope you're feeling better these days.

On a related note, when customers call and ask how we ship our DVDs, they're always afraid that the box has a big sign on it that says "CONTAINS GAY PORN"

that time has become "spam" (cheaper to mail!) , i get more junk mail and it's usually from companies i've purchased "physical products" from.

We at Fratmen don't share our email list with anyone, it's easy to get off of it, and we only send out one email per week with pictures of the new model or a heads-up about a special event.

I woke up this morning to find my monthly copy of AVN Online sitting on the floor beneath my mail slot... However, for some strange reason, and for the first time since I have subscribed, the magazine arrived in a clear plastic bag.

This problem has been addressed and corrected. I'm told that this was our printer's error. They are assuring us that it will not happen again.

Obviously, we are very sensitive to the privacy of those in this business. Sending our magazines out in packaging that does not protect the privacy of our readers is not something we would purposely do.

Anyway, if this happens again, please let me know ASAP so I can take it to my leader.

It's not even about being gay, Jasun. I've worked in a bath house, a gay bar, and a video store with lots of gay and straight porn. And I've learned over the years that most people are pretty private about their sexual habits. A lot of people didn't care if anyone saw them going into a bath house, but many more were downright paranoid about it. Likewise, people didn't want anyone to know they were renting porn. It's that old addage: 50% of are jacking off, the other 50% lie about it.

And of course there is the element that is closeted -- there is that, too.

Here is the response I got from our printer:

We did have an isolated instance with the international remailer we use where a clear poly was mistakenly used in the Jan AVN issue.

Our standard operating procedure is, and will continue to be, that all AVN titles are to be mailed in opaque polybags. Checks are in place so that it should not happen again.

Our apologies for this mishap and any inconvenience it may have caused our subscribers.

Never let it be said that we don't take care of business over here.
