What are you saying? That no one will work with me? I hope thats not ture, I do try to do my best for everyone I work with.
I have been around and higher gas prices are NOT going to help sales. Like I said its nice thinking but these things only hurt sales, as people have less disposable income, and less consumer confidence. This more than makes up for any + you might get from more people staying home, and worrying about gas prices, taxes, terrorist, losing their job, or anything else you can list.
gas prices are always high here , hawaii produces nothing so we must import everything. (interpreted: you maineland people are so spoiled and oblivious to those outside your world which have it harder and must deal with more important issues like the choice between gas or food , i'm sorry but i cannot be sympathetic.)
sincerely ..."greetings from the forgotten..err..50th state!"...
p.s ~ warning: i'm filing taxes this week! , i'm a bit hostile! :fool:
Nor do I, I was only explaining why his gas prices might be a little higher...thats all. I try to visit Hawaii at least once a year, but we don't drive when we are there, we scooter and bus, so I could care less what gas prices are.
In fact, I wish we had better public transport where I lived, because I would sell my car, and subway it everyday. Better for the wallet, better for the environment, and better for me. But alas...

OY VEY!
I GO SHOPPING AT THE 99¢ store for a couple of hours and look at all this silly behavior....
every one settle down - NOW! back to the thread -
I suppose that a lot of folks will be tightening their belts - like we already are and not going out as often and putting off big ticket items
Those with disposable incomes (the ones we are after) will still spend on liquor, gambling and pornography... or at least charge it - like everyone does in the US - some trillions of dollars in credit card debt and the US is in hock up to our eyeballs to the chinese for the war we are waging in the middle east at how many billions a day/week/year?
and no Max, this Iran problem is not going away anytime soon... come on, really man - you do make we want to drive down to Long Beach and Slap you Upside the head!
stay out of the car, don't buy gas from big oil, buy it from the Colonel instead.... ever wonder why some cars smell like fast food restaurants when you're following from behind?
This hostage think will be over by Monday next week, and gas prices are not going to get as high as last year with the hurricane. The hurricane did not help sales, their is no way to hurt consumers and think we are going to come out ahead.
The only think they will come out of prolonged high gas prices is smaller cars, and not sure any of this will do anything but hurt us in the mean time.
Show me anytime we had a disaster that helped sales?
all the extra internet traffic was at cnn and such. no one i know had any sales for days after 9/11. sales seriously went down to about 25% of normal. if the economy takes a dip, sales will drop. if it's only gas prices that have jetted up, sales may increase.
we'll have to just want and see.
