As the only woman I see responding to this post, I am in total agreement with Ethan. It would be my choice and my choice period and I would never allow the government to make that decision for me. It's not to say I would not allow the father to participate in that decision.

I'm also not saying that I would run out and have an abortion either. I simply want to retain the right to make a final decision that will directly effect my body, my health, my life and the life I may or may not be able to provide for that child, as well as the circumstances that I became pregnant in the first place.

That's my thoughts on the matter!

Well put, Lisa. That's exactly how I feel on the matter.

Nobody likes abortion, even those who are pro-choice. It's not like people think, "Oh, if I forget to take my pill or use a condom, I can just run out and get an abortion."

Abortion is a necessary "evil."

I think that men should be allowed to participate in the debate for theological purposes, but they should have no right to enact laws regarding a woman's right to choose what happens to her body.

I want kids. I always have. If I was a guy who got a woman pregnant (Hey, it could happen!), I would be heartbroken if she had an abortion. And if she did not consult me in the matter, I would probably never speak to her again, because I do have a right to at least know about it and voice my opinion.
