I think the closures relate as much to the false impression that many solo performers have that with little money and a hand full of pics/vids they will soon be tooling around in an Azure. They don't realize the amount of money and time this business requires. The most successful single female sites seem to be associated with a big program rather than being 'homegrown'. We are approached all the time by solo guys that want us to open and manage sites for them. When we explain what would be required in terms of their time and our time/money THEN explain what their cut would be, they quickly decide it is better to shoot for multiple studios in the upper range. I have been at this for 12 hours a day for two years and have barely scratched the knowledge surface. It is a lot of work and not the 'birds nest on the ground' that many solo performers believe it to be.
