AVN - Why Are You Profiting From Torrent Sites?

Okay, you guys removed one torrent site by redirecting it to AdBrite, but a search for 'torrents' still lists a fair number of publishers all of which have illegal content on them in the directory.

If you want to discuss it further, take it up with Farley and/or Chad. We've had a few people call us up to chat about it today already, because they cared more about the truth than about spreading gossip. That's what I call REALLY taking action.

Excuse me LEE. But there was an announcement that XXXWriterDude was leaving the company. Why continue an argument when he never was an offical AVN rep?

Well, that's not entirely accurate. I have been employed by the company for the last two and a half years, so technically I have been a representative of the company when I'm at shows and whatnot, but I haven't been posting on GWW as an official rep for them, but more as a rep for myself as a writer who covers this industry.

I just spoke with Chad the VP and publisher of GAYVN. They have modified their account with Ad Brite so that PirateBay and other sites like this are not allowed into the AVN ad network. They have assured me they are now proactivley monitoring the websites allowed into their Ad brite netowrk so that this does not happen again.

Ad Brite is the third party ad sales that handles all the actual sales. Kind of like Google Ad Words.

If anyone sees anything like this again please just let me know and I'll try and take care of it.

Did you check the whois information, or the registered company info for both AVNads and AdBrite?

It sure does look like they are owned by the same entity, just using different company names, just like we own GA Media and Red Bag Productions.

I really do feel you were passed off with some lame excuse, it also seems a lot on GFY feel the same way. I mean really, how many of the sites you partner with share exactly the same contact information, name servers, hosting company and billing addresses as you? LOL

My understanding is that we shared a database with them, that's all. Beyond that, we are not affiliated with them, and cannot control what they have on their network.

If I'm not mistaken, AdBrite is Philip Kaplan's site (the fuckedcompany.com guy)

Might be worthwhile to give him a call and maybe talk to him about it... dunno what his stance is, but by reputation he's a pretty reasonable guy.
