the movie did win a bunch of awards back then (I think - I wasn't there) but that was an interesting, unique and creative way of incorporating old without trying to "redo" something

plus, let's not forget - old movies were shot without condoms and what would we do today... if re-shooting in the same style.... oh my...!
I think Lee might have meant "retro-style" porn, as opposed to direct knock-offs of other titles. Personally, I would love to see someone do a contemporary version of retro porn. After all, those retro fashions are all very popular now with the American Apparel crowd and those who read BUTT magazine, so "retro" is definitely in. I think just having models who don't look like they worship at the altar of G.Y.M. and approaching it with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor would be kinda cool at EVOKING retro porn, as opposed to just mimicking it.
