The sites that our potential members are comparing us to are priced in the same zone... + or - $2. We charge $26.95 (rebills at $24.95) monthly recurring or $34.95 for 30 day non-recurring. For a brief time, our monthly recurring was $29.95 and when we dropped the price $3, we noticed a nice jump in recurring memberships over the non-recurring joins. And we'd rather have recurring members over 1-timers... as long as the retention is good.
Again though, that is the point im trying to make.

If i offered exactly the same price points as you, shouldnt YOU raise your price because your content is exclusive and you have more updates, not lower it?

The same with your competitors, they should be charging MORE than me for access to a site but they are charging less.

Why is around $30 the 'standard' for pricing? Why not $40, $50, $60?

Everyone seems to charge around $30 for a months access, why, who dictated that price?
