Im pretty much willing to help anyone who asks for advice on how to do something that i know about, be that working a members area to help retention and profitability, through to where to buy content or who to go to in order to get good hosting.

The problem i have is with the people who take the advice, then decide to do nothing with it or decide that what they are being told is wrong or not what they wanted to hear.

I recently spoke with someone about a tour that had a bunch of traffic leaks on it, not on a page off the tour, but actually as part of the tour itself, links to specific movie titles from TLA, links to penis pills, links to VOD providers, on the first, second and third page of their tour.

I told them they should probably cut these links out completely but they didnt listen and went ahead and launched anyway with these.

A few weeks later, they decided that what i told them was right and all of the links were removed and subsequently, they got more people promoting their site and made more money from the same levels of traffic as they had prior to removing the links LOL

Sometimes, just because something *sounds* wrong, it doesnt mean that it *is* wrong

The other thing to take in to account when helping someone on the boards is, just because the person you are helping with your immediate reply may be an asshole, days, weeks, months, years down the line, you might end up helping someone else and not even know about it so offering advice and information on the boards, is a gift that keeps on giving

Lee
