I used to have a palm treo that I would use for "local" remote work, ie, heading out around town I would get paged for a server issue and I could work on it via the palm treo on GPRS, but that was very slow internet access and the small screen made it difficult to do anything except urgent stuff.

But now there is a host of new mini-laptops, smart phones and pc tablets. Plus most peoples main laptops are growing as they are really desktop replacements., making them less portable.

But is it worth it to get one of these new solutions, or just slug around that 17" laptop?
