Christmas shopping yet?
I must admit that yesterday we picked up a couple of things to give to people as presents on Christmas Day.
I just wondered if anyone else had already started buying presents for friends and family yet?
Regards,
Lee

On no, you just had to remind me, Lee....
Things have been so hectic around here and at the homestead that I haven't even -thought- about Christmas...
Let alone Thanksgiving.
Sometimes I think the year likes to slip me vodka in my orange juice and laugh when I realize it's been 10 months...
I guess I should take the warning for what it is, and get to hopping - else I won't start until half-way through December again.

I haven't even thought about christmas shopping yet! I am the guy who does it all the day before..hehe

sadly I have slowly started ... hahaha.. but so far only 2 things and they are small but christmas decor is going up everywhere in my surrounding areas and I dont get it.. IT IS 2 1/2 MONTHS OR LONGER tell the damn sacred event and they are already getting rid if halloween stuff before halloween and starting with thanksigiving stuff and adding the christmas stuff next to the thanksgiving stuff. Makes no sense.. Im tending the believe the say " christmas comes earlier every year" I thought that was a figure of speech when I was younger but I think it is fact. LOL

Can't believe we're already talking about Christmas haha. I just moved in to a new home at the beginning of October and as part of the move found myself going to Lowe's fairly frequently, and their seasonal section is already jampacked full of fake trees and XMas decorations. Kinda frustrating when you're looking for Halloween decorations, as well!
My XMas present to myself and partner is a trip to London in mid-December (and probably a day in Paris), which I'm quite looking forward to, likely weather aside!
Otherwise, since my family is all spread out across the world, XMas shopping will likely constitute hopping on to Amazon.com sometime around Dec. 18 and scrambling to find stuff, as happens every year.
I am about 1/2 done with my shopping...
haven't started, so it's a good thing i read this thread. some years, we're done in september.
I'm usually almost done by now but, with the new job keeping me busy I have'nt even started. Who's crazy like me and goes shopping the day after Thanksgiving?
I worked in retail for six years, (both as an associate and as management) ... Black Friday is every retailer's worst nightmare, and fondest wish rolled in one.
Since my first one, I've -never- been caught in a mall the day after thanksgiving unless I was working.
Good luck with that insanity. :p

I have a few things already.
But I have Tonys Birthday on Nov. 1ST to do first.
of course we're already thinking about Christmas - for Christ's sake, we ARE in retail and are already planning the specials we will run in our store which only reminds us of the shopping we need to do for family and friends, etc.
plus, now that no longer smack, dab in the middle of the retail capital of the world - we have to plan our shopping expeditions back home to Beverly Hills and surronds...
there's plenty of good stuff here - I'm thinking that we'll be sending people a lot of fresh produce this year - and not from Harry&David for a change but fresh picked from our own local farms and fields...
and Cam, don't you buy me anything for my birthday - you already know that I'm not accepting gifts this year - I'm asking everyone to give to our local AIDS/HIV Center - we are walking in the 10K Walk for Life on November 3rd. We've been training and (my feet are killing me) - we've already raised a lot of money -
Cam will post a new thread asking everyone to support our walk and our new community that really needs support - HIV and AIDS are still here with us in 2007.
You can IM me or send an e-mail for info on how you can support our efforts
I think I picked up my first gift in June. I tend to buy stuff starting in the summer and keep it in a closet until the holidays. It saves a lot of pressure to find cool things because when I find something neat, I get it -- even though it may be months in advance, because I don't know if I will find something "just right" in those last days of the season. Plus it spreads out the financial burden so I am not spending a lot of extra money at the same time I am trying to take time off from work.
