You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
CCBills GeoIp Form Feedback Before It Goes Live...
IMHO you shouldnt have the GEOIP forms redirect based on the end-users country of origin, but instead, the end-users browser language.
This will alleviate issues with English speaking users living in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, etc, etc not being able to understand the signup forms.
This was a major problem for companies 5 or 6 years ago when i started consulting for them on their international and translated websites, they would redirect the surfer based on the country but found that many surfers from countries other than the US, UK, CA and AU were Ex-pats and couldnt understand what the join forms were saying on these companies translated websites.

Life is a dick and when itīs get hard---just fuck it...
I don't see the hype for GeoIP myself - it just shows where the IP the user surfs with comes from... not his language...
Imagine an German in the United Arabic Emirates connecting via AOL...
I for myself always go with browser language - even if a german has an english firefox or a spanish or even a russian one, the guy behing the screen should be savy enough in that browserlang to understand porntalk
So redirecting by browser lang should be the best way to go

geo-ip targeting billing options (eg, direct debit options for that country) while providing language based on browser language would be the best. And always make sure there is the ability to switch languages easily.

Good input, and I will pass it up the ladder. (I am at GAYVN in LA, so my access to this thread is limited...)
A couple of thoughts:
Keep in mind that GeoIP Forms is optional, and can be set-up differently either globally or down to a subaccount level. And any customization that you might already have in place trumps the GeoIP Forms.
I might argue that if English language speakers are living in other countries, they would probably be acclimated, if not comfortable, with a join form popping up in the language of their resident country, as well as the currency of that country. If they want to switch to English, they would do as any non-English-speaking person would do on a CCBill join page when THEY encounter a join form in English - change the language with a simple click.
To your idea, Luke, the payment option rather than currency is interesting, but do you think that would limit the options of your members with payment choices?

Its true, I am used to getting spanish and clicking for the english version and its really not a big deal as long as the option to change languages is there.
For geotargeting the payment options, it makes sense to me to only offer payment options that are available to that country. I don't know if it would limit payment options??? Not sure at all!!!

I have been seeing on the non-adult side, that they are partitioning their sites for US and non-US members - the consumer can choose which area to visit.
And while the content in identical in each area, things like languages, payment options, etc are specialized for each area. EU payment options are extended in one area (and GeoIP forms could be used there) and US payment options in the US area....
Just one possible way to leverage the growing non-US markets - but you guys are the adult experts, so you tell me if that could work for our industry.
