Even though the kid had already spent two years in prison, the prosecutor appealed to keep him in jail and today the Georgia Supreme Court ordered this kid released.

The kid is black and the prosecutor is white. I honestly think that had something to do with it.

First you need to know the correct facts. Yes, he was convicted of child molestation and yes at the time the sentence was a maditory 10 years without parole. He got what the law read. The law was not changed right after his conviction. He was not eating a pussy he was getting a bj. Yes the DA is white but it had nothing to do with color it had to do with the rule of law. He was also given a plea deal prior to trial and he would not have faced the 10 years. You also need to understand the age of consent in Ga is 16, she was 15. Yes, those seniors in high school dating sophomores in high school are SUCH dangerous criminals they should be put behind bars until they are almost 30! Luckily the 15 year old girl was not white or Wilson would have to go away for life!



A 17 year old having sex with a 15 year old should not be a crime. Even if it technically is a crime, prosecutors have discretion in charging, and Wilson should never have been charged the way he was. If this had happened in my jurisdiction when I was prosecuting, I would not have brought charges. **





**In Iowa, a 15 year can legally have sex with a 17 year old. There is a 6 year Romeo and Juliet exception, which the Georgia Legislature has not seen fit to follow. Regardless, I think more harm came from charging the crime than if the prosecutor had chosen some sort of diversion method to deal with the behavior.

it certainly is no surprise that a 17 year old would date a 15 year old - high school kids are peers. the law should recognize this.

This great athlete and good student as you call him made bad choices. First he was not the great athlete and he was an average student as has been reported in the paper. I have read in the paper he could have been charged with rape, as the girl reported she was semi-comatose when he had intercourse with her after the bj. My understanding of the molestation and rape laws he got charged with the lesser of the two. Once again he was offered a plea deal where he would not have served but the 2 years but still would have had to register. From reports I have read the mother is the one who pressed the issue of prosecution. She provided all the boys names and made sure the tape was provided to the DA. She than found out the amount of time he would get, during the trial, and she tried to get all charges dropped. According to what has been reported in the paper and the local TV news she could have been charge with neglect.

You make the statement if she would have been white he would have gotten life. I expect more from a lawyer but there was a case in Ga where the girl was white and under age the promising black superstar took the plea deal of 2 years.
