Just the loudest ones. The others are cowards as far as I can tell. They'll tell me what they really believe ... but never too loudly.

Just like I used to tell my mother.. there are two types of Christians..

There's the kind who openly hate us, scape goat the gay community, try to enact laws to vindictively make our lives miserable and break apart our families.

There's also the kind who quietly tell us "we're not all like that" but not only don't do anything about it, they get angry and attack us that lump them all together.

Republicans are the same.. sure.. they're not ALL anti-gay, anti-environment, racist, anti-poor, greedy ass hats... but lump them all together and the ones who aren't will attack you a LOT stronger than they do the Rank and File of the party who are... anti-gay, anti-environment, racist, anti-poor, greedy ass hats.

He allows Dubya and the Republicans to claim the middle ground on the issue. He makes it possible for Anne Coulter to say "I dont' hate gays.. you dont' see me walking through the streets saying GOD HATES FAGS. I just think they shouldn't have any rights at all and should be sent to doctors to be cured."
mAnne Coulter's rhetoric ain't nothing but making money, I did a post here Ann Coulter Is A Fag Hag?

Jerry Falwell said something like "thank God for gays, if they didn't exist I'd have to invent 'em" (fund-raising comment)...

You are obviously entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong in mine. There are a lot of democrats who vote party line because they are in porn, a minority or hell maybe because they are gay. But does that really matter? Why not vote for who is going to tackle your issues better? It's just common sense. I just vote for what makes sense to me. Has nothing to do with being a "closet christian" and not wanting to better my party. Hell I vote for what I believe in, and to me that is changing my party and my country. Have I voted democrat before? Yep. But my point was lumping an entire group of people together is no less fanatical than this guy or a kkk member saying "white power" and hating all black people. For example, I have never been to church, I think the rich have it too easy etc. One of the reasons why I am republican is because I am a veteran. I care about our vets and I don't want them to lose all their benefits. Those men and women who served in ww2, vietnam, korea etc., and were told they would have great life when they retired were lied to. Democrats constantly take these things away from those who gave so much for our country. I think some of you watch entirely too much television and think all republicans are just like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, while many are, there are many who are not. My only point in this thread was to say using stereotypes is idiotic no matter what you say, those of you who are gay, black etc., deal with this on a daily basis I am sure, and should be more aware of this issue. I'm actually kind of shocked.

    ????

Are you serious? The democrats take benefits away from vets?! You may be right but it is news to me. I think perhaps you're the one watching too much Hannity and O'Reilly.

Recent events suggest that your fear of the democratic party taking away veterns benefits is unfounded. As you know, the pentagon is a hornets nest of republican ideals. And they are responsible for trying to get vets wounded by IEDs to return their signing bonuses because they are no longer able to serve. The Walter-Reid scandal and the ongoing scandal of military veterns being refused benefits is SOLELY the fault of republican-minded military bureauocracy.

I was a soldier during the Clinton administration and during the first gulf war. I watched them pull benefits away from veterans and from active duty soldiers. I have my own beliefs and thoughts on the Democrats when it pertains to vets/soliders. But that is out of the scope of this thread.

I'm not going to continue trying to share my thoughts in this thread. Many of you are very one sided and not willing or wanting to see both sides. I am not slamming you guys for your political affiliations whatsoever, you have your own reasons for being democrats, repubicans, christians, atheists etc. It is all life experiences that make us who we are. That's what you guys are not paying attention to. However it's obvious some of you are not grasping that this whole thread was me talking about stereotyping. I am sure the LBGT community hates when they are stereotyped, anyone would. Why shouldn't I stand up and say, you guys are wrong for stereotyping and classifying someone for parts of their political beliefs.

Frankly, if people did the research and made an educated decision, we'd all be Libertarian. But then, none of those guys seem to be very successful at winning.

I grew up a republican. I still lean to the right where fiscal responsibility goes and lean to the left with social issues. Unfortunately, the republicans, over the past 7 years have managed to create the largest debt in the history of this country, for the first time ever, invaded a nation without provocation, openly lied to the Congress and the American people about WMD and have succeeded in taking away many of our civil rights. Guess I have to agree with Jasun.....you can't lay down with dogs without waking up with fleas.

I don't see any viable candidates on either side.
