Meats

Oysters - December is a good month for them (any month with an R in it)
If you don't like them raw, you can steam them, stew them and or make a rockerfeller. - A nice tray with ice and half shells will keep on a table. (around $30 to $40 a bushel)

Shrimp - Boiled, then placed on an ice tray (make a tart and less tart cocktail sauce)

Yakitori Chicken - Maybe make a peanut sauce on the side

---

Sweets

Brie - Backed into a sour bread roll - You can make personal brie rolls in a cupcake pan - serve warm so the cheese is still runny.

Baklava - Make it 6 to 7 days before the party so the honey can set up. (a batch "can" cost up to $40 to make)

Tiramisu - Most people know OF it but have never HAD it. (A party is where most people try new things)

---

For the non meat eaters

Sliced Beefsteak Tomatoes - Offer a virgin olive dressing or, Balsamic Vinegar

Olives - Keep away form the small olives in a can or jar - Get the large,Jumbo black and Green olives from a deli.

Focaccia Maybe bake it with a thin onion crust

Curry Potatoes

The main thing is to ask yourself - What kind of friends do I have? Bar friends who think it's going to be a dorm party? AND - What do they eat? Will shellfish make someone sick?
