The Human species is a naturally curious creature. We need to know how everything works and why things are the way they are. We chose to call this particular characteristic, "Science". Based on the information presented above, wouldn't it be safe to assume that all scientists and engineers are "afflicted" with Neoteny? Then why aren't all scientists and engineers gay? I am of the opinion that we are all here for a purpose, gay/straight/bisexual alike. Some are here to create beautiful art for others to enjoy. Some are here to create medicines to help others live happier, longer lives. The list goes on and on, but the point is this: I don't think that my sexuality, or that of any other gay or lesbian person has anything to do with a "Peter Pan" complex. I know many gay people who lack flare or style. I also know many heterosexuals that have terrific style and talent. It might be genetic, but it could be as simple as someone experiencing something and realizing they enjoy it so much that they persue it as a hobby or profession. It's one of those many "curiosities" we may never know the TRUE answer to and quite frankly I am not that concerned about WHY I am gay. I am just happy that I can explore and experience life unapologetically.
