I'm not surprised. This business is well-known for the big come-on and the piss-poor money shot. And I don't think it's any different when companies are looking for someone to join their ranks.

I can't tell you how many affiliate programs I've signed up with because they've got a good sales pitch on the outside and everything looks fantastic, and then, I get inside and the program really sucks, or their promotional materials do, or you try and contact them and they never reply to your message.

I think these kinds of things probably permeate into other areas of a company. And one generally doesn't see this kind of stuff until you're in the door and sitting at your desk. And then you're thinking, "Oh shit, this was a mistake."

Do you stay in a bad situation and try and make it work? Or do you get out and try something else?
