The huge problem I had with Adult Rental before I pulled my studio is that they were giving away:

The free minute promo tools that AEBN offers affiliates I really don't have a problem with that because they do convert. And I do make WAY more than $20 a month from them.

The problem that I do have is when they give away the free previews. And instead of working with us to try and fix things, instead they'd rather toss their college degrees in our face. They wouldn't even talk with me or give me the time of day to talk things through.

We're not talking about the promo tools like a free 15 minutes, they're giving away previews OF EVERYTHING. And not only that, but it rotates through the video. One minute you may see 14 seconds here, then 14 seconds there, then 14 seconds there of the video. And it's like that on every video.

You are missing the point - the 15 seconds is random every click... therefore a free porn moocher can click the free demo 100 times and see most of the movie clip.

If Zipadeedoodah was committed to customer service, he 1) would ask for the cooperation of the copyright holders in executing such a plan before being an MBA ass and wave the contract like a bull fighters' cape, and/or 2) make the previews be static, non-random, and at the very least pick 10 seconds from a section of the clip where no oral/anal action is occurring, or ask the copyright holder to suggest such a 10 second range.

The issue here is the sanctity of the rights of the copyright holder.

And if you disagree, read your AVN daily news email today, with the court ruling against RapidShare (yeah!) then look in the mirror.

For the sake of expediency, we don't ask studios to suggest a starting range for each and every movie they send in.

Paul from your management told me verbally on the phone Monday, repeatedly, that the clip is random... he stated that in the context that AVR can't control the in and out point, the webpage script randomly picks 10 seconds, when I complained that you purposely pick the moneyshot.

The bottom line is that AVR is the lowest performing revenue portal of my 10 revenue portals, and your comments and actions underlie that.

Paul said the clips rotate, I have an email that says the clips rotate, and even you said on ICQ the clips rotate.

How can they pay you if they earn nothing? If they paid you X for each 15-minute free promo they'd go broke. EVERY webmaster would be giving away thousands of minutes a day.

If you think about it, it kinda makes sense that they wouldn't pay on that. I mean, the free stuff is a promotion of the producers content. I can understand this. I am sure the arguement will be about the small percentage that the producer gets, however when you think about the marketing costs that AEBN has spent, and what they do to market content, and the money they pay out for hosting, bandwith and affiliates, it all seems to add up to the percent that is theirs.
