Lee, you should purchase Blogs Organizer with the affiliate module, it will do this for you and its already written and developed to do a lot more for you too. I use it, I know of many other affiliate programs using it (pm me if you want to chat), and best off its pretty cheap too - b.o. plus the module will set you back less than $200.
